Grade 6-8 Track and Field will be in Yorkton on May 15th at Yorkton Regional Highschool. Good luck to all students!

Bike Rodeo will be held on May 16th for K-4. Please bring bikes and helmets. Parents are invited to come and ride with their child in the afternoon.

Dear Parents and Guardians:
Springside School is trying something new this year with school supplies! We are willing to purchase and package your children’s school supplies for the next school year! School supplies will be ready and delivered to the school for the fall!
Attached are the school supply lists for the 2013-2014 year. Basic Supply packages and Additional Required Items are listed along with prices. The Additional Required list includes items such as scissors, binders, calculators, etc. which you may already own. We do not expect parents to purchase these items every year. These need to be only purchased if you do not already own them. Every grade varies in price as each classroom requires different school supplies.
This is a voluntary program but one that will be of value to you and your school as it ensures that students will be provided with quality school supplies that meets the school’s exact needs. All products are very good quality with prices that are very competitive. If you choose to purchase school supplies on your own, please be reminded that specific brands have been requested as other brands are found to be less effective.
If you would like us to provide your school supplies please complete the attached order form with payment no later than May 24, 2013. All orders received by this day will be packaged and returned to the school for the first day of school in the fall. This will give you one less thing to worry about over the summer! Please make cheques payable to Springside School.

Garbage Free Lunch

To recognize Earth Day and demonstrate one way we can care for our Earth, Springside School will be participating in a garbage free lunch.

Please try to pack lunch items in reusable containers and lunch bags to participate in this activity. Recyclable items such as juice boxes do not count as garbage.

Happenings this week!

We are having a spirit week from Monday to Thursday.

Monday – PJ day/lazy day Tuesday – Black and white day Wednesday - Jersey day Thursday – Team colour day

Parent teacher interviews are Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Friday there is no school because it is Good Friday.

Jump Rope for Heart

Today we have our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. Students have collected money and we will be having snow sculpture competitions this morning and this afternoon we will be jumping rope in numerous ways – boots, couples, speed.

The February break starts tomorrow and we will resume classes on Feb. 25th. Have a great break.

During lunch the SLC will be selling small bags of candy for their Valentine. They will be selling for $.50.

Field trip

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Wednesday, February 13^th all students from Grade 1-8 will be travelling to Regina for a field trip. Students will be attending the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and RCMP Heritage Centre. Students will be leaving at 8:30am and will return around 6:00pm. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from the school at 6:00pm as bus service home will not be provided. We apologize for the short notice as last minute changes to this field trip had to be made. Our school was cancelled with a venue in Regina that was previously booked and alternate plans needed to be arranged. All students are to pack a brown paper lunch with NO warm ups. Students are asked to dress appropriately as they will be walking outside at the RCMP Heritage Centre. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the school at 792-2080.
